Jacksonville Jaguars sign K Elliott Fry, cut Andrew Mevis

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Dave Campo was hit by a missed field goal by Andrew Mevis, who was cut by the Jacksonville Jags on Friday.

Fry has played for Chicago, Baltimore, Carolina, Atlanta, Kansas City, Green Bay, and Cincinnati but has only appeared in three games. He made 6 of 6 PATs. Fry was 14-for-14 on field goal attempts with the Apollos of the Alliance of American Football before the league ceased operations.

Mevis was signed by the Jags after the draft to compete with Ryan. He pulled two short field goal attempts wide left and pushed one wide right during warm ups on Thursday morning after struggling through the first four days of training camp.

Campo was talking to a team official when a kick hit him in the shoulder.
