Neil Fachie won Scotland's first gold medal of the Commonwealth Games, as Laura Kenny led England to team pursuit bronze.

New Zealand set a new Commonwealth record in winning the men's team pursuit.

Fachie and his pilot Lewis Stewart set a new Games record in the tandem 1,000m time trial.

After missing out on a place in the gold medal final, the Kenny, Knight, Leech, and Lewis beat Wales by almost two seconds to qualify for the team pursuit podium.

Kenny won the first two of her Olympic titles at the Lee Valley veloPark, which is where the track cycling event is taking place.

It has been great. Kenny said that he had never felt so much pressure to win a bronze medal.

I was a bit nervous to help them win and get some medals.

In the last two rounds, I was the weakest link.

Fachie 'so, so proud'

Alex Marshall is Scotland's most successful Commonwealth athlete with five Commonwealth titles.

England's Stephen Bate and pilot Chris Latham took bronze in the gold medal match.

It's something I've talked about for a long time, as you can hear my voice go. I've been unwell and that made it more difficult.

I was determined to win for Scotland and my family. I'm so happy.

I knew it would need a super-human. I am having to get quicker because I am not getting any younger.

In the women's tandem sprint, England'sSophie Unwin and Georgia Holt won a bronze medal, while Scotland's Aileen McGlynn and her pilot took a silver.
