Three new international routes have been announced by Delta. The airline is adding flights to Tel Aviv from a third gateway in the United States.

Details of Delta’s Atlanta to Tel Aviv route

Delta will launch a 3x weekly flight between Atlanta and Tel Aviv on May 8,23. The flight's schedule will be listed below.

Tel Aviv to Atlanta leaves at 11:30AM and arrives at 5:55PM.

On Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, the flight will operate from the east to the west. The flight is stuck in the air for 13 minutes.

Most flights from the U.S. to Tel Aviv leave late at night and arrive the next day, while most flights from the other direction are redeyes. There is an earlier departure from the US and a daytime return from Israel. People will have differing views on that schedule.

The total number of seats on the Tel Aviv route will be over 300. The seats include Delta One business class seats, Premium Plus premium economy seats, and economy seats.

How this fits into Delta’s overall Tel Aviv service

Delta already has flights from Boston and New York to Tel Aviv. This isn't the first time that Delta has flown from Atlanta to Tel Aviv.

Atlanta has more opportunities to connect than the airports in the Northeast do. This will open up one-stop service from the US to Tel Aviv on Delta, so for many passengers it will be convenient.

The Tel Aviv market is very competitive. American and Delta have been catching up nicely after United.

  • United flies to Tel Aviv from Chicago, Newark, San Francisco, and Washington
  • American flies to Tel Aviv from Miami and New York
United is the strongest US airline in Israel

Bottom line

The last time Delta offered service between Atlanta and Tel Aviv was over a decade ago. The airline will fly 3 times a week using the A350-900.

With 3x weekly service these planes should be easy to fill, and this route is mostly motivated by connecting traffic.
