Kevin McCarthy said that he didn't remember talking to Cassidy Hutchinson about the possibility of former President Trump going to the Capitol.

McCarthy didn't remember talking to her that day. He recalled talking to former White House deputy chief of staff Dan Savino and Trump's son-in-law and former White House adviser, as well as the president himself, on the day of the Capitol attack.

I don't remember if I spoke to her. I don't think a lot of people would come up to the Capitol if it was here. McCarthy did not recall the conversation.

In a House hearing in January, Hutchinson testified that McCarthy angrily called her after Trump urged supporters to march to the Capitol and that he would go with them.

He explained that the president just said he was going to the capitol. Why would you lie to me? Hutchinson said something during the hearing.

McCarthy didn't remember being concerned about Trump marching to the Capitol.

McCarthy said that he didn't watch the speech. I didn't pay attention to the speech. I was doing something. I didn't watch what happened until after the fact.

I didn't know he was going to the Capitol. McCarthy didn't know that he was going to the Capitol.
