There are a few new international routes that I think are worth covering individually. Delta will add flights to Cape Town as of later this year. There will be a 3x weekly flight between Los Angeles and Papeete in French Polynesia. The flight's schedule will be listed below. Los Angeles will leave at 11:10AM and arrive at 6PM. The flight from Tahiti to Los Angeles is leaving at 8:10PM.Details of Delta’s LAX to PPT flight
The 4,095-mile flight will operate in both directions. The flight is not allowed to leave until 9 and 30 minutes after it arrives.
A total of 226 seats will be used on the route. The seats include 26 Delta One seats, 35 Comfort+ seats, and 165 MainCabin seats.
The seats are tight in business class, which makes the product lackluster. Most of the passengers will be in the middle seats, so it is a pleasant experience.
It is always cool to see more air travel between the US and France. How does this fit into the overall service?
I am surprised that Delta is adding this service since Air France already operates it. Delta and Air France don't have a transpacific service. Air France and Delta don't operate a joint business in the market. This appears to be coming out of the left field.
There will be a new 3x weekly Boeing 767 flight between Los Angeles and Tahiti. It is always nice to see a new route you are not expecting. This is a good option if you are loyal to Delta and the price is right.
Do you think Delta is adding flights to Tahiti?
