K-pop stars Blackpink turn PUBG into a beautiful stage for new music video

The band dropped onto a battle Royale island in the new video. Blackpink released a new video that takes place inside of the game's world, as part of a recent collaboration with the game. The band sings in post- apocalyptic landscapes and rides motorcycles across abandoned highways in a virtual persona. During the group's virtual concert appearance, the song "Ready for Love" was teased.

The virtual concert and video follow in the footsteps of other in-game performances, most notably those in the game "Fortnite." Music is merging with virtual worlds. Riot's virtual music projects include the K-pop quartet K/DA and the hip-hop group True Damage, which perform as holograms at live events. A virtual human named Ana is being teased by a company that hopes to turn her into a popstar.

The partnership between Blackpink and PUBG Mobile is still going strong. The virtual concert is still going on. The rest of the world has until July 31st, while players in North and South America have until July 30th.
