A huge pink diamond may be the biggest gem of its kind found in the last 300 years, according to the miners.
The largest pink diamond in the world is 182 carats and is part of the Iranian National jewels.
According to a statement from the Lucapa Diamond Company, which owns Lulo and one other diamond mine in Angola, the new diamond has been dubbed the "Lulo Rose."
The Lulo mining project has unearthed 27 diamonds weighing more than 100 carats, including the largest diamond ever found in Luanda, the "4th February Stone."
The fifth-largest diamond found at Lulo is expected to sell for more money.
Scientists don't know if the phenomenon that gives pink diamonds their rosy hue is real.
The Pink Star was unearthed in South Africa in 1999. The Pink Star sold for US$83 million at an auction in 2013, making it the most expensive gem ever sold.
The weight of the Lulo Rose could be reduced by up to half because it will have to be cut down from its rough form. Even if the Lulu Rose is reduced to 85 carats, it will still be a new sales record.
