Women's T20 cricket, 3x3 basketball and 3x3 wheelchair basketball will be making their Games debut.

There are more events for women and Para-sport athletes in this year's event than ever before.

The times are not always the same.

Friday, 29 July - day one

There were gold medals.

The men's team competes in gymnastics.

There are two types of triathlon: women's and men's.

The highlights of the medal game.

After winning the men's team gymnastics title in 2018, England are favorites again. They are joined by Joe Fraser and Jake Jarman. The three men helped Britain to fourth place at Tokyo 2020. Canada and Scotland have been England's closest competitors in the Commonwealth.

The men's and women's sprint triathlon titles are decided at the park. The swim, bike and run are all part of the Olympics. Alex Yee in the men's event and Georgia Taylor-Brown in the women's event were both silver medal winners in the Olympics. New Zealand's Hayden Wilde is expected to provide tough competition for Yee, while Taylor-Brown will be up against some of the best athletes in the world.

The first day of track cycling finals takes place at the Lee Valley VeloPark in London. The men's and women's team pursuit and team sprint finals will be held on the same day. Four years ago, Australia dominated track cycling at their home Commonwealth Games, winning three of those four events, but this year's team is relatively inexperienced, which could create opportunities for England and Scotland. Neil Fachie won the gold medal in the tandem B time trial.

It could be a big night for Australia at the pool. The women's 200m freestyle is the favorite, while the men's 400m free and men's S9 100m backstroke are also good bets. Depending on the outcome of the mixed 4x 100m relay, Australia could pick up three or four of Friday's seven swimming gold medals.

What's going on?

There are 14 sports that start on the first day of the season. England, Scotland and Wales' men's and women's teams start their rugby sevens campaigns at the same time. With all the medals awarded on Sunday, it's a good time to watch sevens.

The games last for most of the time. In the opening games of the Commonwealth, England plays Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica plays Wales, and New Zealand plays Northern Ireland.

The Commonwealth Games will feature women's cricket. It's the first time cricket has been included in a men's tournament since the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, where South Africa won the gold medal. England are the only home nation in this year's tournament that also includes Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, India, New Zealand, and the West Indies region. Friday's action includes Australia vs India at 11:00 and Pakistan vs Barbados at 18.

The highlights of the medal game.

The marathon starts at Smithfield and finishes in Victoria Square. The men's marathon is at 10:00, followed by the women's marathon at 10:30. The winner of the past two Commonwealth men's marathons will no longer be with us. Oxley-Woods will start the women's equivalent of the men's T54/54 event, while David Weir will appear for England in the men's T54/54 event.

The women's team gymnastics event is a competition between England, Australia and Canada. The English team features four-time Commonwealth Games gold medallists, including Alice Kinsella. Canada usually runs England close but this year's team, led by Laurie Denommee, adds some uncertainty. Georgia Godwin won a silver medal on the all-around in 2018?

The second day of track cycling finals features the men's keirin, a race where cyclists trail a bike for a few laps of the velodrome before a sprint finish. Scotland's Jack Carlin, eighth in Tokyo, may be favored to win the gold medal because of the retirement of the keirin champion. Matthew Glaetzer is the only veteran in the young team. England's Charlie Tanfield is back to defend his title in the men's individual pursuit, while Canada's Kelsey Mitchell is looking to add a Commonwealth gold medal to her Olympic sprint title. The women's individual pursuit for Scotland will not be competed by the Olympic champion after she was injured.

The most decorated Commonwealth Games athlete of all time is Chad le Clos. His 18th and record-equalling medal could come in the men's 50m butterfly, although he pulled out of the world championships with bronchitis, so there is a question mark over how he recovers from that. Scotland's Duncan Scott may meet England's Tom Dean in the 200m freestyle after the 4x100m freestyle relays at the end of the evening. The S13 women's 50m freestyle is likely to be won by Hannah Russell.

What else is happening?

A tough test awaits Scotland as they face Australia in a gold medal game. England's women start their campaign with a day-night game against Sri Lanka. New Zealand plays South Africa at 11:00.

The first four gold medals were won by weightlifters. India has won more Commonwealth weightlifting medals than any other country, and Saturday could be a big day as Saikhom Mirabai Chanu competes in the women's 49 kilogram class. She won a gold medal in this category at the Commonwealth games. The field will include both England and Wales.

The England team will be playing beach volleyball on Saturday. The twin brothers were selected to the England team in May. They will be competing in their first major competition. The duo are ranked 61st in the world and need to beat higher ranked Canadian, Australian and New Zealand opponents in order to get a medal. The first game is against Tuvalu.

The highlights of the medal game.

There are wide-open fields in the men's and women's individual all-around gymnastics finals, where the gymnasts must perform on all the apparatus in order to win. Australia's Georgia Godwin and England's Alice Kinsella have the chance to upgrade their silver and bronze medals from the Gold Coast if they choose to do so. Nile Wilson and James Hall won a one-two in the men's event last year and are considered a strong contender this year. The British title was narrowly won by Fraser.

The final three sets of medals will be handed out by triathlon at 11:00. Scotland's Alison Peasgood, who won a silver medal in the Rio Paralympics, is back with her guide Hazel MacLeod. Dave Ellis is a favorite for England in the men's race. The hosts are strong favorites in the mixed relay, as they are able to name the majority of the gold medal winning team. Australia is the reigning Commonwealth champion.

The women's points race and men's scratch offer a good chance for a big crowd. The races reward riders for getting out in front of the field. Elinor Barker decided to return to the Wales team on the road after giving birth to her son. The favourite in Barker's absence is missing from the Scotland team. The Olympic omnium champion will fancy his chances in the scratch race. Wales' James Ball and Scotland's Neil Fachie could be in a close race in the men's tandem B sprint.

Another day at the pool, another butterfly final, another chance for a medal for South Africa. It's over 200m. It's an event he won in the past. English eyes are most likely to be on the men's 100m breaststroke final, where three-time Olympic champion Adam Peaty hopes to recover from a broken foot in time to defend his Commonwealth title. The women's 200m breaststroke will be held at Tokyo 2020 and Le Clos will attempt to hold off the other two competitors. Medi Harris will look to upset the world record-holder in the women's 100m backstroke and Wales'lily Rice has a chance to win the gold medal in the women's 100m backstroke.

The men's and women's finals take place at the Rugby Sevens tournament. Four years ago, New Zealand won both titles, but this time they are a little rusty because of the Pandemic. Australia's women were dominating the world series until New Zealand showed up.

What else is happening?

Englishman Jack Oliver and up-and-coming Welshman Michael Farmer are competing in the men's 73 kilogram class. Rafiatu Folashade Lawal of Nigeria has set a record in the women's 59 kilogram category.

One of the highest profile games on the cricket calendar takes place at 11:00 on the 11th.

Scotland's men are ranked 19th in the world and have a tough task against the number one team in the world, Australia.

Scotland's women are playing in a beach volleyball game. Friana Kwevira won a javelin bronze and Linline Matauatu and Miller Pata took bronze in beach volleyball at the Commonwealth Games. Four years ago, the Edinburgh-based duo of Mel Coutts and Lynne Beattie were knocked out in the quarter-finals.

The highlights of the medal game.

There are five gymnastics gold medals on offer on the first day. One of England's team-mates is a European silver medal winner in the floor event, while another is a gold medal winning gymnast on rings. The world governing body of gymnastics was involved in a row over the eligibility of a gymnast who won a gold medal. It was Northern Ireland's only gold medal.

Track cycling ends on Monday with the men's points race and we recommend listening to the commentary. Points are given for performing well in sprints throughout the race and also for lapping the field. If this is your first points race, it will be difficult to keep track of everyone's progress. Walls won the Tokyo 2020 points race to win the omnium title. New Zealand's Campbell Stewart, who was second in that race and won Olympic silver behind Walls, will also be in the city. Laura Kenny is expected to ride against Neah Evans for England in the women's scratch race.

The men's 100m freestyle is the first final of the night. Kyle Chalmers won an Olympic silver medal in Tokyo and will see this as a chance to make a difference. Canada's Josh Liendo just won a world bronze in this distance, with England's Lewis Burras seventh. The women's 200m individual medley could turn into a battle between Australia's Kaylee McKeown and England's Abbie Wood, while a world and European champion is excited to hear the host nation's roar after the Pandemic. The 4x200m men's freestyle relay was won by the British team with English, Welsh and Scottish representation.

What's going on?

There are medal matches from 18 to 20. This is a rare chance to see the sport at this level, as it has only appeared at the Commonwealth Games four times in the last two decades.

Women's team medals are decided at the end of the table tennis game. Four years ago, India defeated Singapore to win the gold medal, while England and Australia battled for the bronze medal. Singapore has won more medals in table tennis at the Commonwealth Games than any other nation. Glasgow's team champion Clarence Chew is in the Singapore squad.

There is a group stage test for England as they play India, the team ranked one above them in the world.

Laura Daniels of Wales is hoping to improve on her silver medal from four years ago. Scotland is defending their triples title. Teams from smaller nations and territories such as Norfolk Island, the Cook Islands and Niue often compete in lawn bowls. The Cook Islands won a bronze medal in the men's pairs at the Commonwealth games.

In the men's 10,000m, Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei just won the world title in Oregon, leading home countrymen Jacob Kiplimo in third place, which bode well for an impressive streak: Uganda have won the Commonwealth men's

The opening action at the track is followed by a blockbuster night in the swimming pool. If the cards fall the right way, there could be medals going all over the place. The men's 50m breaststroke is expected to be won by England's Adam Peaty, while the women's 800m free is expected to be won by Titmus. In the men's 100m butterfly, Canada's Josh Liendo, Australia's Matthew Temple, South Africa's Chad le Clos, and England's James Guy all have a chance to win a gold medal. We haven't even reached the finale, the mixed 4x 100m medley relay, which could be a very close contest between England and Australia.

Canada and Australia are expected to do well. The British Virgin Islands will send their largest-ever team to the Commonwealth Games after St Lucia dropped out. Australia and Canada are strong in the wheelchair events.

Four more gold medals were awarded by the judo team. The European champion in the women's -63 kilogram class and the man in the 73 kilogram class are both from England. Lucy Renshall, the world's number one ranked woman, is out with an injury.

Kevin Wallace will team up with a late replacement after his partner was kicked off the team less than a week before the start of the Games.

In the table tennis men's team final, India are the strongest entrants on paper, but England are in with a chance if they can beat Nigeria, who have a solid table tennis medal record at the Commonwealth Games.

The first look at the heptathlon will be shown during the athletics morning session. The first round of the women's 100m will be shown.

England's women are playing South Africa in a cricket match.

The women's hockey group match between Australia and New Zealand, two of the top three teams in the contest, could give some insight into who is in the lead. England will play India at 14.

Scotland is playing England in beach volleyball.

The youngest member of Australia's weightlifting team is trying to become the first woman to win gold for two different countries. Four years ago, the 22-year-old won a gold medal for the country of his birth, but now he's switched loyalties.

The men's and women's 100m finals start at 21:40 and finish at 21:45. There will be a lot of hope in Jamaica for a repeat of the scenes that saw the nation sweep the women's 100m world podium. Jamaica and South Africa should feature in the men's race. Prescod is one of England's best medal prospects. Eilish will aim for gold in the 10,000m. Before the 100m finals, we'll find out if Johnson-Thompson can win another major heathlon title.

All four home nations are in with a chance of winning the gold medal in the swimming competition. The men's 200m freestyle, the men's 50m free, and the men's medley relay are all part of the England team. Duncan Scott won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Medi Harris can challenge for the podium in the women's 50m backstroke and Welsh hopes to rest with Daniel Jervis, the silver medal winner in the 1500m free. The women's S14 200m freestyle is likely to be won by the world champion from Northern Ireland. Titmus has a chance to win gold for Australia in the 400m freestyle.

Sarah Adlington is not a debutant, but she is one of the most experienced Scots competing in the sport. Adlington, now 35, is a major contender for women's +78 kilogram gold, particularly as she seeks to rebound from a disappointing first round exit in Tokyo 2020. There is a Commonwealth champion in Wales.

Emily Campbell is a silver medal winner in the Olympics. Commonwealth gold winner Feagaiga Stowers is returning for the next edition of the event.

Wales face a difficult but winnable task against South Africa, ranked three places above them in the world, at 12:00. Northern Ireland is playing Uganda.

Anna Shackley will face off against Australia's Grace Brown in the women's time trial.

Jack Laugher became the first British diver to win three medals at a single world championship when he won one gold, one silver and one bronze in the same event. He was installed as the favorite in the city. James Heatly is a Commonwealth bronze medal winner. The English teenager is a contender in the women's 10m platform event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

A quiet night at the athletics results in five gold medals, including the men's 100m, where England's entrants include Andrew Pozzi, up-and-coming two-time British champion Tade Ojora, and Josh Zeller, who produced an impressive fifth. The injury that kept Hansle Parchment out of the world final may cause Jamaica's Hansle Parchment to start as the favorite.

In his third Commonwealth Games appearance, Micky Yule will attempt to win the power lifting title. Yule has a point to prove since the past two Games resulted in fourth place finishes. Mark Swan missed out on the world podium in December of last year, but he will be a contender for the men's lightweight gold medal at the Olympics.

What's going on?

The all-around is Rhythmic Gymnastics.

Men's 65 kilogram and women's 57 kilogram are included in wrestling.

The highlights of the medal game.

Jack Laugher has two major diving medal opportunities on the same day. She has won the 3m synchro at the Commonwealth Games in the past. Chris Mears, who won a gold medal with Laugher for England, has retired to focus on his music career. Malaysia and New Zealand are the Commonwealth rivals of Laugher and Harding, who won the world silver medal. England's Matthew Lee and Noah Williams won world silver in the men's 10m synchro last month, but Canada are likely to be breathing down Australia's neck, too. Four years ago, Scotland's Grace Reid beat Australia's Georgia Sheehan in the women's 1m springboard, but this time she's up against a new opponent.

The decathlon ends with the 1500m at 21:45. Only England, ranked 97th in the world, is confirmed to enter. Lindon Victor is likely to finish on the podium after winning the title. The women's steeplechase and triple jump will be decided, as will the T 53/54 1,500m. Tom Walsh is one of the best shot putters in the world and is favourite to retain his title for New Zealand.

The preliminary rounds, quarter-Finals, semi-Finals and finals are all decided in six weight classes. Bajrang Punia's attempt to land Olympic gold last year was disrupted by a knee injury and he will be looking to redeem himself in the men's 65 kilogram category. It's more than half a century since anyone other than India or Canada topped wrestling's medal table at a Commonwealth Games, and you can expect more of the same in Birmingham as Canadian under-23 world champion Ana Godinez Gonzalez looks for gold in the women's 62 kilogram category Kane Charig was the only home nation athlete to reach a final last year.

What's going on?

There are opportunities for England's Alison Yearling and Chris Turnbull in lawn bowls. Athletes who are blind receive guidance from "directors" who assist them. Sue and Mark Wherry are the Directors of Yearling and Turnbull. The Scottish women's triples team lost in the final to Australia last year.

Russia, Italy and Bulgaria are more successful at world level in rhythmic gymnastics than the Commonwealth nations. The all-around final on Friday will be a chance for the Commonwealth's best to show what they can do and that could mean gold for Australia.

Hockey and beach volleyball's quarter-finals take place throughout the day.

The highlights of the medal game.

The morning session of the men's 1500m final will start at 10:00. After winning a world title in Oregon, Jake Wightman vaulted himself to the top tier of British track and field and was installed as one of the favorites in the event here. England and Wales will try to stop Wightman from winning a double. In the women's high jump, watch out for England's Emily Borthwick, Laura Zialor and Morgan Lake, as well as Australia's newly crowned world champion EleanorPatterson.

Do you think another medal for Jack Laugher is a good idea? Scotland's James Heatly could deny Laugher a repeat in the men's 3m springboard final, as he did in the 3m platform final last year. New Zealand and Jamaica have a chance to win medals. The women's 10m synchro could see England up against Malaysia for the top spot, while the women's 3m synchro could have Australia's Maddison and Anabelle Smith in it.

The second athletics session focuses on the track as the women's and men's 200m finals end. Two of the world's fastest women over 200m are Jamaicans Shericka Jackson andShelley-Ann Fraser-Pryce, while ChristineMboma could return from injury in time to compete. The men's race is where South Africa's newest sprint sensation, Luxolo Adams, will compete against Trinidad and Tobago's Jereem Richards. Home nation hopes are led by Adam Gemili and Zharnel Hughes. There is a chance that the women's 800m final will be between England's Hodgkinson and Scotland's Reekie.

What's going on?

Six more gold medals were awarded in wrestling. Christelle Lemofack finished fifth in the women's 53 kilogram category at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

The lawn bowls finale could be good for Scotland. The women's pairs and Scotland's men's fours are both competing for medals.

The para-sport table tennis events will end on Saturday. There were two para titles on offer.

Cricket's semi-finals take place at 11:00 and 17:30, as well as rugby's semi-finals at 17:30. The men's squash and men's hockey semi- finals start at the same time.

The Commonwealth Games award medals in each of four individual sets of apparatus, unlike the Olympics, which only award medals in a single set. Diamanto earned a medal in all four of the year's events. The way for others will be opened by the fact that Evirpidou won't be in the city.

Sunday, 7 August - day 10

One to watch in the javelin is Annu Rani, who is the first Indian woman to reach a world final in the event. England's Matthew Hudson- Smith, who hails from Wolverhampton, is in great form and will challenge Steven Gardiner in the men's 400m final. At the time of writing, there is no confirmed name on the start list for the women's event.

The road races, held in and around Warwick, include stretches that go up to the edge of Victoria Park. The women complete 112 km while the men complete 160 km. Scottish hopes in the women's race have been hurt by the absence of a key player. Australia will be hoping for a repeat of their victory last year. The names that leap out in the men's race are Geraint Thomas and Mark Cavendish.

The 16 boxing titles are decided in three periods of activity. Six of the gold medals went to England. Four years ago, England's 6ft 6in choice at super-Heavyweight was trying to match the team's success. Orie thinks he can be better than Joshua. Reese Lynch is the first Scottish boxer to win a medal at the World Championship. Rosie Eccles lost her arm due to a Viruses and is coming back from it. Walsh won a bronze medal in the Olympics.

The men are at the diving platform. While Tom is taking a year out, Matthew and Noah are back. Domonic Bedggood won the gold medal for Australia on the Gold Coast. Canada's Mia Vallee won the world silver medal in the women's 3m springboard, but Scotland's GraceReid made the top 10 in the same final and should be competitive in the Olympics.

The women's and men's 4x400m relays are held in the evening. Laura Muir is expected to face a tough challenge in the women's 1500m, while Eilish McColgan is set to feature for Scotland in the women's 5000m. The women's long jump is a medal event.

The highlights of the medal game.

The last day of the Games starts with badminton. England picked up two of the five badminton titles on offer on the final day of the year thanks to Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge in the men's doubles. Ellis is back in the England line-up this year but the others have left. Smith has five Commonwealth medals but never a gold. One of the athletes who has every Commonwealth colour except gold in the locker is from Scotland, and she wants to win the women's singles title.

It's been awhile since anyone other than Singapore won the table tennis women's doubles. There are three Commonwealth table tennis medals that have come in this event, and she's back in the squad for the next one. Singapore could get a medal boost on the final day of the Games because the story in men's singles is almost the same as it is in women's singles. Fifty of the country's 96 Commonwealth medals have been won in this sport.

There are two mixed synchro contests at the end of the diving action. Scotland won a world bronze medal in the 3m synchro event in June, finishing well ahead of nearest Commonwealth rivals Malaysia. Australia might be the team to beat at the 10m synchro title.

The women's and men's doubles end squash. The two England players who lost a see-saw final to Australia are back in the team. Only one of the winning Australian duo is coming back. The women's event is an opportunity for New Zealand'sJoelle King, who is one of the best in the world.

The men's hockey gold-medal game will be played at 1 pm. Australia will occupy one of the two berths and India or England will be in the other.
