Sources told Jeff Passan that the New York Mets are interested in acquiring outfielder Tyler Naquin and left-handed pitcher Phillip Diehl.

Sources said the Yankees are sending Rodriguez and Acuna to Cincinnati in order to complete the deal.

Naquin is a veteran outfielder and left-handed bat. He has experience in all three outfield spots and has played mostly right field this season.

Naquin hit his seventh home run of the season, but it wasn't enough as he lost to the Miami Marlins.

He was a free agent last year and joined the Cincinnati Reds. This season is his last as a free agent.

He has only seen limited action in the majors this season, with just five relief appearances and an 11.12 earned run average. He hasn't pitched for the Reds since May 7, and since then he's pitched for the team's minor league affiliate in Louisville.

The trade deadline is Tuesday.
