Men ‘brutally’ beat people at homeless camp as others cheered them on, SC cops say

Five men were filmed brutally attacking people and beating them unconscious at a homeless camp while some looked on and cheered.

The videos were discovered while investigators were searching for a murder suspect.

There is a video that is violent and graphic. The video shows a man approaching a tent in a wooded area and kicking and punching another man inside. Men can be seen beating a man on the ground.

According to the sheriff's office, six people have been accused of taking part in the beatings at the San Souci neighborhood of the city.

It's about 100 miles from Columbia.

The brothers and a family friend have been charged with murder in the shooting death of another person. The accessory after the fact was the mother of the man.

While investigating the shooting death, detectives executed search warrants on the suspects and found videos of the attacks on the homeless. The men had guns with them during the attacks.

The news release did not say where the videos were found or if they were related to the shooting. The spokesman for the sheriff's office didn't return a request for further information.

Authorities think there may be more victims from the videos. The sheriff's office said that many victims are afraid of being retaliated against. If you have information about the attacks, you are asked to call the sheriff's office or CrimeStoppers.
