Kirk Cousins 'not concerned' by GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah's comments (0:42)

The Vikings' future at the quarterback position is a topic of discussion. There is a time and a place.

KirkCousins brushed off comments from the general manager of the Minnesota Vikings, closing the door on an awkward start to training camp.

With training camp being so busy and consuming so much of his time, did he have any reason to question the Vikings commitment to him? I don't think I'm too worried about it.

In a story published earlier this week about team-building philosophies, Adofo- Mensah was quoted as saying, "The one asset where you get nervous about not burning it down is quarterbacks."

The risk of moving on from an established starter was noted by Adofo- Mensah.

The Vikings decided in March to sign Cousins to a contract extension that is likely to keep him as their starter through at least the 2023 season. All of the money will be guaranteed next season.

On Tuesday, Adofo- Mensah said he was speaking to USA Today about team-building at the position.

Adofo- Mensah said that he is a passionate person. I like talking about team building and decision-making. As the general manager of the Minnesota Vikings, I can get theoretical and high level in those moments, but everyone is going to fill in the gaps of what I'm saying and relate it to the team. I don't want to put that on the organization. Sometimes your words can be removed from the conversation and put on the page. I have to get better at understanding how that might look and work.

Adofo- Mensah reached out toCousins to make sure they were on the same page.

Adofo- Mensah said thatKirk knew how he felt about him. We're in a good spot. His mindset is where we're at.
