Variety reported that the group sent letters to NBC Universal, Apple, Paramount, AMC, and Amazon and gave them 10 days to respond.

The signers asked to review each studio's abortion policies including their plans for subsidizing travel for employees who need to get an abortion in a different state and details on the scope of medical care for employees.

The signers want studios to review their policies regarding legal protection for employees who take advantage of abortion care or give someone information about the company's offerings, and they want studios to stop donating to anti-abortion politicians.

The studios will use the responses to determine if or not they will continue to work in states where abortion is now illegal.

Some of the high-profile signers were Rhimes, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Rae, Kaling, and others.
