Spotify’s Friends Mix playlists are auto-generated mixtapes from your pals

There is a new way to mix and match music on the platform. It wants to get you out of your comfort zone by having your friends listen to tracks that they've been listening to. Unlike Blend, which mixes a few of your recent faves with some from a pal, Friends Mix is meant to be like getting a large collection of recommendations from your friends.

Premium subscribers and those who use its free offering are able to use the new playlist type, but only on the desktop and mobile apps. If you want to see a Friends Mix in your Made For You hub, you need to create three Blend playlists.

If you rely on the recommendation of a friend, there is no better way to find music that you will enjoy. I am not sure if my friends would find a list of my most listened to songs interesting.
