Sony is testing 1440p resolution support for its PS5 console. The new PS5 system software will include 1440p support, gamelists for their library, and new social features, and will be available for testing today.

PS5 owners will be able to choose the resolution on compatible TVs and monitors. 4K games will benefit from improved anti-aliasing if native 1440p output is supported.

PS5 owners will be able to check if their display supports 1440p in the screen and video section of the dashboard with the help of the software in the early stages. Variable refresh rate won't be supported at 1440p, and will only work at1080p and 4k on the PS5

Gamelists are designed to make it easier to organize your games. Each list will support up to 100 games, and you can create one from the main game library. There is a limit on the number of games that can be added to the list. You can put multiple games into them.

New notifications when you join a party will let you know when you can join a friend's ongoing game and a request option will allow you to ask friends to start sharing their screens. You will be able to send stickers and voice messages in parties, as well as compare the different settings of regular stereo and 3D audio.

The new PS5 software will be rolled out to all PS5 owners in the coming months.
