In a statement, LIV Golf said it would expand its global footprint with events in North America, Latin America, Australia, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

The 54-hole three-day tournaments feature shotgun starts and no cut and will be split into 12 teams of four. The captain of the team is tasked with gaining the greatest fan following and sponsorship interest in a franchise model.

The grand finale of each season will be a Team World Championship match. The richest prize fund for a single tournament will be at the end of the series at Trump Doral.

The Open, US Open, Masters and US PGA Championship will not be staged on the weekends of the men's majors next year, according to Norman.

Because the PGA Tour has suspended its members who have joined the new series, US players will not be able to play in the Ryder Cup. US layers earn points for their work on the golf course.

The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia has bankrolled LIV, which has lured American players with deals worth more than 100 million dollars.

It's not clear what will happen to European golfers, despite the fact that the captaincy has been stripped after he signed up to play. The LIV golfers have not been banned by the world tour.
