Google’s latest Nest security cameras can stream a live feed to a Chromecast with Google TV.

A feature that has been missing from the new Nest cameras will be coming soon. You'll be able to stream the video feed from your Nest cameras and video doorbells to your TV using a device called a Chromecast. The feature was announced in a post on the forums.

'What?' You want to know? "Couldn't you already do this?" It was possible to see the video feed from older Nest cameras on the largest screen in your home.

In my review of the new Nest cam, I mentioned that none of the newer cameras could be used to stream to Chromecast devices. All Nest cameras can be used to stream to various smart displays.

Starting this week, you can view a live stream from your Nest Doorbell (battery) on your TV using a Chromecast with Google TV.

The latest devices that will be supported are the Nest cam with battery, the Nest cam with floodlight, and the Nest doorbell.

We don't know if it will work on other devices because the newer Chromecast only works on the newer version of the device.

This week is when the new integration will be rolled out. There is no way to make it work. Make sure you have the same wi-fi network as your cameras. If you want to use the voice remote, you can say, "show me the front door camera." Ask your smart display if you can see the front door camera on my TV.

We need a web portal option to be added to the new Nest cameras so they can gain feature parity with the old ones.
