There is a collection of clothing and accessories for camping. The video game kind that 100 Thieves lambasted with its own clothing line is not Microsoft's. A hammock and a camping chair are included in the camper collection.
Some of the items in the lineup seem decent given that most people don't associate gaming with going outside. The design of the camp chair is similar to that of the Chair Zero, but electric green and twice as heavy. It's hard to complain about weight since it's cheaper.
People who count every ounce probably wouldn't want the hammock, but it's perfect for slinging up between two trees at a campsite. Microsoft is trying to get people to drink more water with this bottle, but I wish it wasn't costing double the normal retail price now that it has topographical branding on it.
I don't think Microsoft's "camper" marketing line up with how some of these products are actually made. According to their spec sheets, the T-shirts, hats, and sweaters are made of up to 90 percent cotton. One of the most popular pieces of advice in the hiking and camping community is to avoid cotton.
The slogan is overdramatic. Cotton clothing has been implicated in a few deaths from exposure over the years. Cotton doesn't keep you warm when it gets wet, so if you get caught out in bad weather, you could have a problem. It dries out very slowly, so even if the rain stops, your cotton shirt will still be warm. Sans Undertale said that you are going to have a bad time if you are in a pretty remote area. It won't be from precipitation. I have had many hikes where a cotton tee soaked up all my sweat and then chill me to the bone after I got to a shady section of trail.
I don't want to make a big deal out of it. If you go hiking, you don't need a shirt made of wool or fancy athletic fabrics, you'll have a more enjoyable experience. If you are going to be spending a lot of time outdoors, you might want to get a hiking shirt from Microsoft. The nylon windbreaker and nylon shorts in Microsoft's collection are made from a material that is suitable for hiking.
I don't think you should buy any of this gear, but the patterns look pretty cool. If you decide to pick them up to add them to your Microsoft clothing collection, you might want to leave the shirts at home. You monstrous.
