Donald Trump is hung up on the 2020 election and is threatening to file a lawsuit against CNN for calling his voter fraud claims baseless.

On Wednesday, Trump released a statement saying that he was going to file a lawsuit against CNN.

"I will be taking legal action against other media outlets who have lied to the public regarding the overwhelming evidence of fraud during the 2020 election," Trump wrote. I will continue to fight for the truth and the future of our country.

The statement came close to a week after a letter was sent to CNN's leadership by Trump's legal team.

According to Trump's legal team, the former president should not be considered a lie as he believes that the results of the 2020 presidential election turned on fraudulent voting activity in several key states.

CNN has refused to acknowledge that Trump could be correct, according to the legal team.

Representatives for CNN didn't reply to a request from Insider.

Trump accused the network of defaming him by referring to his voter fraud claims as false.

The Trump team cited the movie "2000 Mules" as one of their reasons for asserting that Trump's comments are not groundless.

According to a fact check by The Associated Press, the film used a flawed analysis of cellphone location data and ballot drop box video to question the integrity of the 2020 election.

"2000 Mules" has been praised by Trump while he repeats the claim that the election was fraudulent.

The Trump camp has tried to file dozens of lawsuits over the former president's baseless claims of voter fraud. Despite the abundance of evidence, the former president insists that the election was stolen from him.

One of the legal issues that the former president is currently entangled in is a lawsuit.

This isn't the first time that Trump has sued a media outlet. The New York Times was sued by his campaign in 2020.

The threat of a lawsuit against CNN suggests that the 2020 election may not be over for Trump.

A top Wisconsin official said last week that he received a call from Trump urging him to decertify Biden's election win in the state.
