Developers will be able to test the fourth version of the mobile operating system. There are a number of new features in the latest version of the Messages app.
The software update for all users with an iPhone 8 or newer will be released in September, and is currently in a public alpha stage for developers and members of Apple's free public alpha testing program. Next week, there will be a second public version of the mobile operating system.

You can now see the original version of the message if you tap on the "Edited" label. Before the "Edit" option disappears, iMessages can only be edited a total of 5 times.
The time limit for unsending an iMessage to two minutes has been reduced by Apple.
Developers can begin testing the Live Activities feature on the Lock Screen in their apps with the release of ActivityKit in the alpha stage. The feature can only be accessed via TestFlight.
The Lock Screen will be provided with real-time glanceable information. A sports app could allow the user to start a live activity for a game.
Live Activities won't be included in the initial publicly released version of the operating system, with the feature to be enabled in an update later this year. Live activities will be available in the App Store.
New Wildflowers and Architectural wallpaper are added to the Home app in the fourth version of the operating system.
There is a brief chance to unsend an email in the Mail app. There was a time limit of 10 seconds for unsending an email in the first three versions.
The Lock Screen notification options have been improved. There are images that show the Count, Sack, and List options for Lock Screen notifications.
The Lock Screen can be changed with a variety of options at the bottom of the screen.
The music player on the lock screen has been updated.
Multi-colored, blue, and gray options are available for the static version of the wallpaper for the Apple device.
