The Chick-Fil-A in North Carolina tried to get people to come in.

On July 26th, the location posted a message on its public Facebook page asking for people in the community to work at the restaurant for free.

We are looking for people to help out with our new Express. The post said that they would earn 5 free hours per shift. Please let us know about the details.

The company didn't endorse the program and the restaurant decided to end it, according to a spokesman.

The program was at an individual owned restaurant.

The operator did not respond to the request for comment.

It's common for chains to provide perks for employees. Starbucks workers get a free drink and seven free food items per week, as well as a free meal each shift. Workers are paid only in food.

Some people were upset with the offer on the restaurant's Facebook page. The restaurant doesn't allow anyone to comment on its most recent postings.

In the last year, fast food chains have taken unconventional methods to find workers.

McDonald's in Oregon advertised that it would be hiring 14 and 15 year olds in 2021. The majority of Mcdonald's restaurants are run by operators who can make their own decisions. Heather Coleman said that hiring young workers had been a blessing.
