According to Mark Gurman, a former executive of Lamborghini has joined Apple to work on an electric car.
The next- generation of Apple's service was shown at the conference.
According to the report, Apple hired a 20-year veteran of the brand to help design the vehicle. He oversaw vehicle dynamics engineering and R&D at Lamborghini. The design of suspension components, rims and tires, steering and brake systems, exhaust systems, fuel systems, and more was led by Taraborrelli.
"For over twenty years I have been in the automotive business working on designing amazing cars and simultaneously adapting and re-shaping my team's organization in order to meet company's vision and mission," wrote Taraborrelli on his website. Apple is an ideal fit for him because of his passion for technology.
It has been said that Apple is working on an electric car. Kevin Lynch is the leader of the project, as well as the lead on the Apple Watch team, and John Giannandrea is the company's head of machine learning.
According to The Information's Wayne Ma, Apple's vehicle design goals included four seats facing inwards, a curved ceiling, and a trunk that automatically rises. According to the report, Apple has pushed for exemptions from the NHTSA to release a vehicle without a steering wheel and brake pedal.
The project has faced many leadership changes and technical challenges, so the launch time may be pushed back.
