A group of students at a Swiss boarding school designed a three-story space condo that can fit inside a spaceship.
The vision was brought to life using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and was installed at the school's Future Park.
The world's tallest 3D-printed structure is called theRSH. It's intended to give students at the Institute a better idea of what it takes to survive in space.
The team added a pet to make the experience more convincing.
The outer shell of the habitat was 3D printed using a special material that can be broken down again and reassembled into a different structure.
The ground floor is a research lab, while the second and third are used for living and resting.
Sebastian Frederiksen, founder of SAGA Space Architects, said that the space habitat is state-of-the-art. It was developed in just a few months.
Students will be able to test hardware and software tools to see what it's like to live on a different planet.
"Now the research and education begin, and this is just the beginning of the habitat." We hope to learn a lot about living on the moon.
The space habitat is designed to fit in the spaceships.
Russia is planning to build a moon base.
