Druw Jones injured his shoulder during his first batting practice with the Arizona D-backs.
Jones would be out for the year as a result, according to Bob Nightengale.

Jones will meet with a Phoenix-based doctor on Wednesday to determine the next course of action after undergoing medical scans. Josh Barfield said it was too early to say if Jones would be ready for the start of spring training.
Jones got a bonus of $8.2 million when he joined the D-backs. He was the second overall pick out of a Georgia high school and the son of a former baseball player.
The son of a former Atlanta Braves player, Andruw Jones, was named the Georgia High School State Player of the Year after hitting.570 with 13 home runs in his senior season.
According to MLB.com, Jones was the top prospect in the upcoming class.
The injury to the 18-year-old is unfortunate for the D-backs, who have seen some of their top picks suffer injuries after signing.
