The development of the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has been put on hold indefinitely. A company known for creating ports out of existing video games is making a remake of a classic game. Industry veterans, as well as people who helped create the original game, onboard, were part of the team that worked on the remake. The game's future seems uncertain now that things seem promising.

The developers of the game were excited by what they achieved after finishing a demo for Lucasfilm and Sony. The company fired the design director and the art director. Minor's Aspyr credit shows his end of employment as July 2022, and his profile image features the "#opentowork" frame.

In July, Aspyr held a number of meetings to tell employees that the demo wasn't where they wanted it to be and that the project would be put on hold. The studio heads told the staff that they will be looking for new contracts.

While the developer's reasons for firing Prince and Minor and for freezing the project aren't clear, one of the sources suggested that it poured a disproportionate amount of time and money into the demo. It wouldn't be sustainable to continue what it has been doing for the rest of the game. The game's time period is one of the possible points of contention. The partners were told by Aspyr that the game would be out by the end of 2022.

Some Aspyr personnel think that Saber Interactive could take over the project. We reached out to the company for a response to the report and will make a change to the post. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II was released on the Nintendo Switch. The bug that prevented people from finishing the game was fixed in July.
