Cruz endorsed an opponent of a Trump-backed candidate in the Wisconsin governor's race.

Cruz wrote "Rebecca will fight for a stronger economy, school choice so parents are back in charge of their kids' education, and she will work to protect life and our #2A." Please support Rebecca's campaign today.

The Texas lawmaker did not support TimMichels. In June, Trump endorsedMichels.

"If Wisconsin has the wisdom to make Tim their next governor, it will have unprecedented success!" said Trump at the time.

Four days before the August 9 vote, Donald Trump is going to visit the area to stump for his opponent.

The representatives at the post-presidential press office didn't reply immediately.

Cruz broke from the former president regarding political endorsements.

Cruz was campaigning for his colleague, Rep. MoBrooks, who was running for a Senate seat in Alabama. Cruz mocked Republicans who pledged their support to Trump.

In March, Trump said the congressman "went woke" over the election. Up until that point, he had been an ally of the president.

After losing his primary in June, he promised to testify about the Capitol riot if summoned.

Trump's control over the party has been challenged by other Republicans.

Outgoing Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan denounced Dan Cox for being a Trump supporter. Cox defeated Kelly Shultz in the Maryland primary elections.

In May, former Vice President Mike Pence stumped for Brian Kemp in his race against David Perdue. Kemp will go head-to-head for the governor's seat againstAbrams if he wins the election. Kemp won the Georgia primary because of voter fraud, according to a claim by Trump's group.

The governor of Arizona is going to get the support of the vice president. There is a person running against another person.
