A plan to treat wounded Ukrainian troops at a US military hospital in Germany has been approved by the Secretary of Defense.
According to a Pentagon memo, Austin gave the go-ahead for the treatment of Ukrainian soldiers at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in western Germany.
The defense chief made the decision official in a memo on June 29. Up to 18 Ukrainian troops can be treated at a time, according to the outlet.
Since the start of the Russian invasion, wounded Ukrainian troops have been offered treatment at a US military hospital.
According to a report published on Tuesday evening, no Ukrainian troops had been treated at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.
The center is the largest American military hospital outside the US.
Several Ukrainian soldiers have been treated in the US. A video posted on Tuesday by an adviser to Ukraine's Minister for Internal Affairs shows soldiers testing their new legs at a Chicago hospital.
