The iPhone SE looks old compared to the other phones. The Pixel 6a uses a modern hole punch design for the camera, which has less bezels at the top and bottom. The under-display fingerprint sensor in the 6a was slow and inaccurate in our testing, but the Touch ID Home button on the iPhone SE is better.
The glass back panel of the iPhone SE doesn't have the MagSafe technology that's found in newer phones. The Pixel 6a has a plastic back that isn't as premium as the one on the other phones, but it has a higher battery capacity than the ones on the other phones.
Apple's latest A15 chip is used in the iPhone SE, while the Pixel 6a uses a chip designed by Google. The software differences between the two devices made it difficult to make a one-to-one comparison.
The Pixel 6a has both a standard wide-angle lens and an ultra wide-angle lens, while the iPhone SE only has one Wide lens. We did a photo session with both phones, and both cameras did a great job with just a few differences between them.
In lower lighting situations, the Pixel 6a produces images that are more in line with the real look, while the iPhone SE will make things brighter. The photos from the Apple products are more neutral in tone.
With images that have bright colors, the iPhone SE tends to have more vibrant colors, but when it comes to quality, it's a matter of preference.
The Pixel 6a does a better job in portrait mode There's no blur of parts of the photo that aren't supposed to be. Both phones have selfies that offer the same performance.
If you're not locked into Apple's system and are looking for an affordable phone with modern features, the Pixel 6a is a better choice than the iPhone SE. It's not ideal for those who are Apple device owners, and it's not the best choice for those who prefer smaller phones because of its 6.1-inch screen.
