Alex Jones talking to reporters

Alex Jones is facing a defamation trial in Texas, where theInfoWars is based. The trial is meant to determine how much Jones owes the parents of the Sandy Hook victims.

According to the Washington Post, Jones' lawyer said that the trial would likely be delayed because of "medical issues." He showed up to the trial. The blowhard quickly made a statement to the judge.

This is not a normal courtroom. There is a political action being taken. Jones told reporters that it was a witch hunt. The exchange was captured on video and posted on social media.

The trial judge reprimanded Jones for talking to the media. District Judge Maya Gamble said that they wouldn't have that again. If there is any member of the jury in sight, every participant in this trial is told to be silent.

Jones has spread all sorts of crazy ideas on the internet. Extreme weather is being blamed on government weapons, as well as the "the water is turning the frog gay" rant. The Sandy Hook shooting was a hoax made up by crisis actors to make a national tragedy happen.

There were 26 people killed at Sandy Hook. Jones caused immense suffering for the parents of the real victims. Some parents were forced to relocate because of the harassment and threats they received from Jones' fans.

According to a report from Insider, Jones apologized for the coverage he gave to Sandy Hook and regretted his actions. Even though Jones has admitted that the mass shooting was not a hoax, he has used all manner of excuses to make himself look bad.

At least two other defamation lawsuits have been lost by Jones. He filed for Chapter 11 for three of his companies in order to avoid paying the victims of his lies. He got away with a $5 million donation from an anonymous person.

The prosecution's case in the Texas trial will only be a small part of what Jones owes to families. The attorney told the jury that Jones had a campaign of lies.
