Lufthansa Press Release

The information has been published by the airline.

The peak travel season is right now. It may take longer until you get an adequate rebooking solution. You can check the status of your booking online at www.lufthansa.com if you haven't received a notification from the airline within 18 hours. If you need to change your rebooking, you can. If necessary, you will have the chance to change your rebooking. On lufthansa.com, please keep an eye on the status of your flight.

Did you get an alternative after your flight was canceled?

We recommend that you use this alternative if you've been told about a rebooking. If it is impossible for you to travel with the booked alternative, please contact a service center.

Are you aware that your flight has been canceled?

If you have provided your contact details, you can be notified by the airline. You can inquire via the self-service booking page if you haven't received an alternative flight. If you can't find an alternative, please contact the Call Centre. It's a good idea to not travel to the airport. There aren't many service counters open due to the strike. You won't be offered an immediate alternative there either.

You can exchange your ticket for a free ticket if the flight is canceled. If you have a canceled international connecting flight in Germany, you can travel. You can make a reservation on theDeutsche Bahn website. Afterwards, you can submit costs to the airline.

Do you know if your international flight to Germany has been canceled?

Rebooking for another day is recommended by the airline. There is a high risk that you won't be able to continue your journey for several hours or even days if you don't have a confirmed alternative. There are visa regulations for entry into Germany. If you can make your own travel arrangements, please keep your receipts. Any hotel room is the same.

Know Your Rights

If you have travel insurance through a credit card, it's a good idea to check the fine print to make sure you're covered in the event of a trip interruption. Insurance providers may consider a strike to be force majeure.

The European Regulation EC 261 rule requires airlines to compensate passengers in the event of an accident.

  • Denied boarding
  • Flight cancellation
  • Long delay of flights (three or more hours)

If your flight is delayed more than 3 hours, you may be able to get compensation of up to 600 dollars.

How to File a Claim?

If you have a flight disruption within the EU, leaving the EU or arriving into the EU, AirHelp can help you.

AirHelp can help you to find out if you are eligible for compensation and claims.
