The Meta Quest 2 is arguably the default VR headset, but it’s getting more expensive soon.

The price of the Meta Quest 2 headset will go up starting in August, with the 128 gigabyte model going up to $399.99 and the 256 gigabyte model going up to $4799.99. You can still find the two models on sale for their original prices at multiple retailers, giving you time to grab one before the price goes up.

When the price goes up, the Meta Quest 2 will be the same console, just $100 more expensive. If you purchase a Meta Quest 2 within 30 days of the price hike, you will receive a free copy of Beat Saber. Now is a good time to purchase a virtual reality headset if you have been hesitant about owning one.

Target is currently the best place to buy a model of the Metaquest 2. You can get the Elite Strap for free if you buy it at the standard price. We expect this deal to sell out quickly, but there are a few other retailers that are still selling the game for its original price.

The $50 elite strap is part of the package of the new default for virtual reality.

If you decide to buy your own headset, here are a few accessories you should look into.
