Ted Cruz insists that he hasn't watched the January 6 committee's recent raft of public hearings, even when a one-time intern of his offered bombshell testimony about former President Donald Trump's conduct.

Cruz is an avid user of the social networking site.

He was able to see a clip of the security camera footage that showed Republican Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri fleeing the Capitol after he pumped his fist at the crowd.

Cruz thinks that Democrats and the corporate media are trying to play gotcha politics. Josh and the rest of us left the Capitol after the police evacuated the building.

Cruz couldn't stay away from issues like inflation or gas prices this time.

He admitted that some of the people setting it to music and the like were worth a laugh. It's cheap.

Cruz initially hesitated before saying that he was partial to "Chariots of Fire."

Hawley ran to the theme song of the 1981 British sports drama film.

On the day of the January 6 attack, Cruz and Hawley objected to the results of the presidential election. The two have supported opposing candidates in major GOP primary races.

Cruz is willing to poke fun at the other side, but he and Hawley are mostly focused on January 6. When another reporter asked Cruz what he thought of the fact that Hawley ran from the mob, he said that he had just given an encouraging signal to.

The question conflates the thousands of peaceful protesters who were exercising their First Amendment rights with the larger number of individuals who committed acts of violence, Cruz said. I don't agree with their politics but I condemn anyone who commits an act of violence. You should go to jail if you assault a police officer.
