Videos under 15 minutes will be posted as Reels, the platform's video format, and Reels are now being promoted and shown to others on the platform, a concept very similar to TikTok.

In the wake of the shift from a photo-based app to a video-focused one, several big-name creators have spoken out, including KimKardashian, who has over 300 million followers, and KrisJenner, who has over 400 million.

Mosseri predicted that more and more ofInstagram is going to become video over time as he responded to the backlash.

While it focuses on video, the platform will still support photos.

In order to help creators reach more people and for followers to discover new accounts, Mosseri said that the photo-sharing service would try to get better.

Mosseri said the social media platform will test a "full-screen" display for photos and videos for some users, but it's not yet good enough to be fully adapted by the photo sharing service.
