It can be difficult for parents to pick the best tablets for their children. If you can afford it, you'll want one with enough power to be productive, but at a low price.

The Galaxy Tab S7 FE, which has the S Pen included, has plenty of RAM and a beautiful display, is our favorite overall pick.

The difference between the Tab S7 FE and the S20 FE is that the Tab S7 FE is well-made and has good performance at a lower price. It's a strategy that worked out well for the company's phone, and that means that students can benefit from it.

The 12.2-inch high-definition display of theGalaxy Tab S7 FE has support for the HDR10+ rendering system. It will all be crisp and give you plenty of space to work. The Tab S7 FE is powered by the Snapdragon 750G to make sure that there is no lag. It's also 5G capable, so you can work from anywhere, even if you're not in the area.

RECOMMENDED VIDEOS FOR YOU...

The large battery will allow you to work for hours, and when it's time to power it back up, the 45W charge will get the device up and running again. The dual-speaker setup will make sure everything sounds great when you watch a video. The front camera is great for video calls, but also acts as security for faceunlock.

You can get the Tab S7 FE with a variety of storage and memory capacities. You can always expand it up to 1 terabytes with a microSD card. The features of the Tab S7 FE make it a great choice for students.

If you need a device that can handle almost any task, then you don't want to look at the other devices. You'll be happy to know that you don't have to pay more for extra productivity with the addition of the S Pen.

Under the hood, the Tab S8 Plus has 8 gigabytes of ram and 128 or 512 gigabytes of storage. The flagship chip in the S22 lineup is the same one that was used in this. It gives you all of the power and smarts to make your Tab S8 Plus a desktop-like experience.

You won't want to leave behind a portable experience like playing around on a 12.4-inch display. The Tab S8 Plus had a battery life of between 9 and 12 hours a day.

You will want the full package, even though you won't have to pay extra for the S Pen. If you want to stay productive in class, you'll have to shell out more money to get a keyboard cover or another device.

iPad Air M1

When Apple knocks it out of the park, we're not afraid to acknowledge, even though our site focuses on all thingsAndroid. The iPad Air is about half the price of the iPad Pro, and offers better performance for demanding creativity applications.

It has a lightweight, thin-bezel design, Touch ID built into the power button, and two powerful speakers. It has an anti-reflective coating which makes it perfect for use in direct sunlight or for late-night binges.

The Apple M1 is found in both the iPad Pro and MacBook Air, and it gives the best performance speeds of the best tablets. If the school's wi-fi network is unreliable, you can add cellular data.

The iPad Air 2022 has few drawbacks and is better suited for general use than other tablets. The 64GB base variant isn't enough for extra storage so you will have to pay a lot. The Apple product's battery life is not great, with an average of eight hours in our tests. It's great for both students and non- students.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

The S5e was one of our favorite value tablets and was replaced by the S6 lite. You'll get a familiar, lightweight, sleek design with this new tablet, along with solid specifications you would expect from aSamsung tablet.

The S6 lite has 12 hours of battery life, along with a microSD card slot, which makes it ideal for storing classwork or media files. The company also unveiled an updated S Pen, which has a new design, a better tip, and better performance than the standard S Pen. It's easy to see why an impressive Android tablet is packed with features and more to do than you can imagine.

It isn't built for laptop-level efficiency because of its small screen and 4 gigabytes of memory, but it is great for scratching out notes and streaming movies. It's a better choice for students who want to do most of their work on a laptop because it sells for less than the S8+. There's no reason to pay more for features that aren't needed.

The Tab S6 lite is aimed at the value market. The four speakers found in the Tab S6 were not included in the second iteration of the device. The microSD card slot can only hold up to 512 gigabytes, while other tablets can hold up to 1 terabytes of data.

Lenovo Chromebook Duet 3 multiple windows with external monitor

If you're looking for a device that can double as your laptop when you get back to your room or dorm, the IdeaPad Chromebook Duet 3 is a good choice. The Duet is one of the best Chromebooks for students due to its long battery life, bright display, and productivity accessories.

The 10.8-inch display of the Duet 3 is 400 nits of brightness and will remain visible in the sun. It has a 7000mAh battery that can be used for several days on casual use. Chromebooks like the Duet 3 are designed to handle most Chrome OS applications without using a lot of power.

During class, you'll use the attachable keyboard to type notes and then use your favorite media apps to relax. ChromeOS will work well in both contexts because it's fully designed for both laptops and touchscreens.

Unlike many of our other picks, it lacks a microSD card slot, so you'll have to use just 64 gigabytes of storage. If you can use the cloud to store your notes, homework, or creative projects, that should be plenty.

You can check out the best student Chromebooks if you need portable power for your school laptop.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A8

Many of the perks that make the Tab A8 our best cheap tablets also apply to why students will love it. It has a 7040mAh battery that will never die on you in class and can jump up to full capacity in just a few minutes.

It has speakers that will blow your roommate's mind. It's lightweight and easy to hold, since it has a large display that makes it easy to read books.

We like the design a lot. Most budget tablets like the Fire HD 10 and base iPad have a lot of space, while theGalaxy Tab A8 looks more uniform and attractive due to its aluminum finish. We think students will appreciate the headphone jack and 1 terabytes of space on the microSD card slot.

There is at least facial recognition for a quick unlock on the Tab S8+, which makes it more convenient for some students. The 1920x1200 display is not as bright as the other AMOLED panels, but it does give you an upgrade on the high definition displays.

Amazon Fire Hd 10 2021 Productivity Front 2

(Image credit: Jeramy Johnson / Android Central)

The Productivity bundle that Amazon is selling with the new Fire HD 10 Plus and the snap-on keyboard is designed to make the new tablets more productive. The new tablets are an alternative to cheap 2-in-1 Chromebooks for getting work done, according to our reviewer.

You can buy the standard Fire HD 10 or the Plus for $30 more, which will allow you to use wireless charging and give you 4 gigabytes of RAM. The Plus is the best choice since it gives scrolling and typing extra smoothness and responsiveness.

It is now possible to use split-screen apps to be productive while streaming your video app of choice. If you like smart displays, it can double as an echo show.

The Fire HD 10 Plus hasn't changed much from the previous one. It has a bright display but isn't really pretty. It's still running a version of the phone that doesn't include the new improvements.

Since you can't access Play Store apps unless you sideload them, you're more limited in your app options than if you used a traditional device. Some students may enjoy it as a cheap way to watch streaming apps.

If you're shopping for children or pre-teens, Amazon has a Kids Pro edition with similar performance, parental controls, and fun apps.

iPad Pro 12.9 (2021) with Android figures

(Image credit: Andrew Myrick / Android Central)

If price is no object, the iPad Pro 2021 is the best iPad for students who want to transition into a business tool later in life.

Many students don't need a browser or word processing app because price is an object that most students don't care about. We recommend this for students who use creative software frequently and for those who plan to use their tablets as a laptop.

The mini-LED display has 2500 local dimming zones for incredible color fidelity and 600 nits of brightness that goes up to 1000 for high definition content. Adobe CC is one of the creative iPadOS apps that can run on the M1 chip.

You can use the new 12MP ultrawide selfie camera to make video calls with family or classmates. You won't have to worry about connecting to the internet when you use the 5G option. It's well suited for enjoying games and media during students' time off.

Attach the Magic Keyboard or use the Apple Pencil to take notes and sketches, both of which make working on a tablets seamless.

It's obvious that the iPad Pro 2021 already costs a premium at the base model; buy the 12.9-inch model and add in these vital accessories, storage upgrades, and 5G support, and you'll spend anywhere between $1,500 and $2,000 for the whole package.

The iPad Pro is a great choice for students who want a professional-looking device.

Amazon Fire HD 8 (2020) tablet standing upright on a field of grass

(Image credit: Jeramy Johnson / Android Central)

The Amazon Fire HD 8 isn't designed to be a powerhouse device. Those who want to read content on the go, don't want to take up a bunch of real estate in their bag, and want to save more money than the already cheap 10-inch model will find this useful.

Everything the smart assistant offers in terms of a voice assistant and more can be found in the smart assistant section of Amazon. You can use the skills to find the right answers during study sessions. It's lightweight and portable, so you can use it to read without carrying books.

multitasking may be a problem with the Fire HD 8. You'll have to use a microSD card for any heavy lifting on the storage side because there is only 32 or 64 gigabytes of storage.

Fire OS is not the same as the one you'll be using. It gives quick access to Amazon services and streaming apps while opting for the Amazon App Store.

How to pick the best tablet for students

Stage Manager vs Samsung DeX - Apple iPad Pro vs Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra

(Image credit: Andrew Myrick / Android Central)

The market for tablets is dominated by Apple and other companies. These are the most reliable options on the market and are more durable than others. There are a few things to consider if you're trying to find the best student tablets.

It's not a big deal that most of these tablets are capable of running video calling apps or services. Thanks to the superior camera quality for video calls, you will be better suited for something like the iPad Air or the Tab S8+. It is possible to remain in the center of the frame thanks to built-in software capabilities.

What you plan on using it for is one of the factors that should be taken into account when selecting a tablet. If you need stylus support, do you use the S Pen or the Chromebooks Duet 3? Do you prefer to type out your notes or do you prefer to use a computer?

There are some first-party and third-party case options available for the others, but the only one that comes with a keyboard cover is the Chromebooks Duet 3.

There are no options for the best student tablets that will last at least eight hours. You'll be able to get up to 12 hours on a single charge with the Tab S8+ if you don't mess around and watch TV or movies.

There are other features that could make you want to use one of the tablets. Many of the best tablets include DeX mode, in which the basic interface of the operating system is replaced by a desktop-like one. The use of apps in different windows is different than using multitasking gestures.

Stage Manager will be coming to the M1 iPad Pro when iPadOS 16 is released, but it won't be until September.

If you're a student, you'll find a lot of different tablets to choose from. It's not uncommon for use-case to be different for everyone, but our favorite device is theSamsung Tab S7 FE.

It has plenty of power for multitasking and getting some work done, but it also has an S Pen in the box, which will allow you to take notes wherever you go.

You can use the new DeX Mode when you pick up the keyboard cover. The fastest network speeds can be taken advantage of by the tablet. Going from class to class without relying on spotty wi-fi can be a big change.
