'Leave it to Beaver' Star Tony Dow Dead at 77

The actor, producer, and director who played one of the stars on "Leave It ToBeaver" has passed away.

Tony was a kind, compassionate, funny and humble man, according to a statement from his team. It was great to be near him. You could not help but love him because of his gentle voice and way of speaking. We are all richer for the memories that he left us, despite the fact that the world has lost an amazing person.

We first reported that Tony was diagnosed with cancer in May 2022.

Thank you Tony, from the warm recollections of Wally Cleaver to those of us fortunate enough to know him personally. Thanks for the reflections of a simpler time, the laughter, the friendship and the feeling that you were a brother to us all. We will not see you anymore.

Tony was born in Hollywood, California and became famous as "Wally Cleaver" on the show.

After acting on shows like "Never Too Late" and "My Three Sons", he took a break from acting to serve in the National Guard. He reprised his role as Wally from 1983 to 1989.

Tony acted in "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" in the 2000's.

Tony was older than 75.
