Liz Cambage is leaving the Los Angeles Sparks in the middle of her first season with the team.

"It is with support that we support Liz's decision to leave the organization," Eric said. We decided to part ways amicably because we wanted what's best for Liz. Our core group is excited about our run towards a playoff spot in 2022.

The four-time All-Star and formerMVP candidate appeared in 25 games for the Sparks this year, and was recently coming off a bout of cancer.

The 30-year-old, who had previous stops in Dallas and Las Vegas, joined the team in free agency this year.

After missing out on the playoffs for the first time in a decade last season, the Los Angeles Sparks are looking to get back in. Three other teams are within a half-game of the sixth-place Sparks in the league.
