Xavi joined Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year contract last summer, but he has not ruled out a return to Barcelona.

Xavi told a news conference in Dallas that it was impossible because of the contract ofLeo.

It's not right to talk about Messi. He is the greatest player of all time. The president is hoping that Messi's story doesn't end with Barcelona. It's not the time to talk about Leo, it's the time to talk about the players we have here.

The post-Messi era has seen the signings of Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha. They follow the arrivals of two other people.

Reports continue to link Messi with a return to Barcelona, despite the fact that he will be 36 when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends. According to Diario Sport, Xavi asked the president to try to sign him on a free transfer.

It was bitter when Messi left the Catalan club. He was willing to accept a lower salary in order to stay at Barcelona.

Last week, Laporta saidMessi was everything.

He's been the most efficient player in Barcelona. He's only comparable to the man. It had to happen today. The decision was made because of what we had.

I would like to see the Messi chapter continue. It's our responsibility to fix that chapter, which is still open and hasn't closed, so it turns out as it should have, and that it has a better ending.

I did what I had to do. I think I owe him because I'm the president of Barcelona.

Laporta wants Messi to return to Barcelona, where he won the Ballon d'Or six times and held the club's records for goals and appearances.
