Guillermo looking at camera with Nandor and wives in the background

What We Do in the Shadows closed out San Diego Comic-Con with a preview of this week's episode and a discussion between the cast and creative team of what to expect this season. The showrunner and writer teased that there will be a full-on vampire wedding.

Panelists Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén, Mark Proksch, andKristen Schaal weren't spilling any information about the wedding. No matter what happens, the familiar gets to step out on his own path this season, something showcased on this week's episode. There is a key scene in the movie where we get to see the two characters go toe to toe with swords.

Guillén and Novak prepared for the scene. He thinks that was the biggest stunt to date. We spent a lot of time with that sword. He was practicing in the middle of winter. It's just cool. It makes it all work out.

Novak said that he had spent a lot of time twiddling his sword and playing with his sword. It was a great time.

Guillén is excited to show more of his Van Helsing family fighting skills with his favorite action moments. He said that he came up with plancha. You know if you know. Plancha was fun. One of my favorite lines from that scene is, "The only reason you're alive is because I let you live." It made for a much better stunt scene. The scene in the Night Market was also up there.

When it comes to the tension between Nandor and Gizmo, the fighting shows it off, but, as Guillén explained, this season will show that Guillermo is moving past it. We don't have the courage to say anything because we've been in love with someone from afar. He said that being Guillermo was similar to being a Guillermo. He has had enough of putting himself first and now he is realizing that. The only reason he stays is because there is a child in the house who has not had to do this in hundreds of years. He said that line because he had to spend a lot of time by himself and no children should have to.

The showrunner said something. Coming up for the rest of the season, we will be talking about the chosen family members, the vampire, and we will get to know the real family.

Guillén is very excited for viewers to meet the extended De La Cruz vampire hunting family, and fans will be excited to see who will be playing them. He told the crowd that representation matters. You would like to see yourself on the screen. It does make a difference, especially with a genre like that, where you don't see a lot of Latinos. I will be a part of what will hopefully be a lot.

On Tuesdays, What We Do in The Shadows airs on the FX network.
