Hugo Alamos, standing on Daytona Beach with his family, first heard a loud boom like a bomb, then was horrified to see his 5-year-old son disappear underneath a barreling car as it came to a stop next to him in the ocean.

The people ran out of the way but David couldn't move fast enough.

Alamos said in Spanish that he saw his son come out from under the car. My son had a right arm cut and a chest cut.

Alamos said he cried for help after picking up his son. He said that beach patrol officers and paramedics came to help.

A woman was killed in Daytona Beach Shores when a vehicle crashed into the beach from a nearby road.

William Johnson, an elderly man from Massachusetts, lost control of his vehicle while making a U-turn in Ormond-by-the-Sea.

Johnson careened through a parking lot, smashing through a wooden fence and over the ramp leading to the beach, after drifting onto the shoulder of the road, according to troopers.

Four children were hospitalized after Johnson rammed his SUV into them.

The children and Johnson were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

A 5-year-old girl was flown to another hospital after suffering traumatic injuries.

A woman from North Carolina was walking on the beach with her family in Daytona Beach Shores when a driver crashed his car through a gate and killed her.

The woman's family were able to get out of the way but she was hit and killed.
