I had the chance to check out the business class lounge at the airport before I flew to Serbia. This is one of the two biggest business class lounges at the airport and it was renovated in 2016
There is a lot to love about this massive lounge, it has solid food, all kinds of different zones you can sit in, and also some unique amenities, like a Costa Coffee stand. There are drawbacks as well.
The carrier flies out of Terminals 2 and 3 at the airport. I was really sad about that. I wanted to check out the lounge at the airport, but they won't let me in unless my flight leaves the airport.
I like to review new experiences and leaving from Terminal 3 is an upgrade since the Emirates lounge is better than the Fly Dubai lounge.
There is a dedicated area for first and business class passengers in Terminal 3 and I was able to get a boarding pass for my flight in no time. I made my way through security.
The business class lounge is located in Concourse B. The entrance is between B16 and B18.
The lounge is located on the top floor above the concourse.
The entrance to the business class lounge is to the left after you go up a level.
The lounges of the airline are open all the time.
The lounge is open to the following passengers.
The lounge has seating for 1500 people. The lounge was renovated in 2016 and it was said that it was 10,000 square feet. I think the lounge is 108,000 square feet. The lounge is similar to the first class lounge of the airline.
It is easy to get lost in the lounge and there is a lot of sign language.
One of the most elegant parts of the lounge is the seating setup just inside the entrance. It is the least used since it is far from the food and drink stations.
The lounge is located above the main part of the concourse so you can see how busy it is in the terminal.
The central walkway of the lounge has a lot of seating.
There are lots of seating.
One side of the lounge has traditional lounge seating with leather chairs in rows. It is ideal for people who don't want to eat.
The other side of the lounge is devoted to eating. I was in the lounge during a quiet time of around 2PM until 5PM, and I was amazed at the amount of empty seats in the lounge. The pictures of the seating in the dining area speak for themselves, but they are not the only ones.
Lounge seating lacks outlets, which is frustrating. The majority of the tables don't have any outlets. That would be expensive to retrofit, so the airline just didn't want to invest in that.
The lounge has a couple of private rooms in the center area which are cool. It almost feels like first class.
The lounge was renovated in 2016 and it now feels better than it did before. I wouldn't call it cutting edge. In the 1990s, Las Vegas was the location of design inspiration for the company.
There is an extensive selection of buffets in the lounge. The lounge has open kitchens so you can see the food being prepared.
In order to not have too much crowding in one area, the buffets have been spread out so that there are not many people in one area. There is a buffet for Middle Eastern and Western food, a buffet for Asian food, and a dessert buffet.
The food was good. I usually avoid buffets in lounges, but I tried some items here and enjoyed them. There are some things on offer.
Some of the Indian vegetarian food and some of the Middle Eastern dips made me happy.
Coffee machines, tea, and self-serving wine and liquor were available.
New concepts were introduced when the lounge was renovated. The health hub is supposed to have healthy dining options. Still and sparkling water, bread rolls, fresh fruit, several pre-made salads, and even a make-your-own salad option were included.
There is a champagne bar in the lounge. First class lounges don't have a feature like this. The space is cool.
During my visit, I had four options for champagne.
The champagne selection for a business class lounge is exceptional. Excellent.
The bar has a selection of nibbles that are meant to compliment the champagne.
This is the part of the lounge that I like the most. Good coffee is something I love to drink. If you are getting a milk-based coffee, a barista-made coffee will be better than a machine-made coffee.
There is a Costa Coffee station in the business class lounge, where you can get a wide variety of drinks.
Is that really good? It was closed when I was there. It is only open during the morning hours until 10AM.
Is that really true? It is running a global airline with people connecting to different time zones all the time. Is this because of a shortage? There were many people in the lounge. Is the price of milk too high? Why, it's the United States of America.
This is an amazing concept, but it is ridiculous to only have it open in the morning. The peak rush hour at the airport is 2AM.
Smokers will be happy to know that there is an open-air portion of the lounge where they can smoke. The rest of the lounge has the same number of seats in this section as well.
Those who are sensitive to smoke may not be happy to learn that smoke can be smelled in other areas of the lounge.
There are many daybeds in the business class lounge of the airline. You won't have full privacy even though there are separators between them. If you want to escape the crowds or rest for a while, this is a good place to hang out, but I wouldn't want to sleep here if I had a long flight. The Dubai International Airport Hotel is a good place to stay in those situations.
There is a business center in the business class lounge. If you only want to work on your laptop, this isn't the place for you.
There is a play area for kids in the business class lounge.
The lounge of the airline has a spa. The spa in the first class lounge is free for first class passengers. Most guests will have to pay for treatment here.
The menu for the spa can be found below.
Near the smoking area there is a shoe shine chair. It might only be staffed during peak hours because there wasn't anyone working there when I visited. They don't just do shoe shines, but also things like cleaning up sneakers.
There are bathroom facilities in the lounge. There are at least one or two people assigned to work in the bathroom each day. They tend to clean up after a lot of use.
Unfortunately the rooms are basic. The shower rooms don't have toilets or sinks, but they are in the same area. When a shower suite has a sink and toilet, I like it. This is better than nothing.
There is a business class lounge at the airport. There are different areas in the lounge that could be used for a variety of moods. A health section, champagne bar, and coffee stand are available at the lounge.
This is a good lounge. It is not a good idea to expect a lounge that is very personal and that there aren't power outlets everywhere. I don't think the lounge's decor is particularly inspiring for the most part.
