According to a league source, the Green Bay Packers extended the contracts of general manager Brian Gutekunst, coach Matt LaFleur and executive vice president/ director of football operations Russ Ball.

Packers president Mark Murphy wouldn't confirm the extensions earlier on Monday but said he was confident that Matt and Brian would stay with the Packers for a long time. Gutekunst and LaFleur were hired in the same year.

Both of them were close to the end of their contracts. After this season, Gutekunst signed a new five-year contract. LaFleur had a four-year contract with a fifth year option. Ball was nearing the end of his contract with the Packers because he was promoted to his current role of managing the salary cap.

Murphy spoke at the Packers' shareholders meeting on Monday and praised the work of all three.

The Packers have not announced a contract extension for a key member of their football operation in the past. They gave Mike McCarthy a one-year extension before he was fired.

The deals for Gutekunst, LaFleur and Ball were completed before the Packers returned for training camp.

"I don't want to keep contract extensions internal, but I think they're doing a great job," Murphy said.

Since Gutekunst took over, the Packers are 45-19-1 Under LaFleur, the record was 39-10. George Seifert had the most wins in his first three years as an NFL head coach. In the Gutekunst-LaFleur era, the Packers have not made it to a Super Bowl despite reaching the playoffs twice and losing once. Both Gutekunst and LaFleur were hired. Gutekunst and Ball were involved in the hiring of LaFleur.

Murphy supported Gutekunst when he was at the center of the quarterback's unhappiness with the organization. The working relationship between Rodgers and Gutekunst has been repaired since last season.

Gutekunst made one of his biggest moves by trading up to pick Jordan Love. It's not clear if Love will ever take over for Rodgers, who signed a three-year, $150 million extension in March.

The terms of the extensions were not made public.
