When Joe Burrow becomes eligible for a contract extension, he will make a lot of money.

Mike Brown told reporters that the team will do what it takes to make sure the quarterback stays.

Brown said that they couldn't be happier with Joe. He's perfect for a quarterback in Cincinnati. Our goal is to keep him here.

One of the top quarterbacks in the league after being the No. 1 pick in 2020. After his first season was cut short by an injury to his left knee, he went on to record 4,611 yards, 34 touchdown and 14 interceptions while completing 70.4 percent of his passes.

The Bengals lost to the Rams in the Super Bowl in a game that came down to the final minute. The quarterback was sacked seven times and pressured numerous others, including on the game-sealing incompletion with 43 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

The third year of his contract is when he is expected to make the most money. The team has a fifth-year option for the following season, but he is eligible for an extension after this year. He will join the eight quarterbacks who make at least $40 million per year on his new deal.

The other Cincinnati players are also in line to be paid. The star safety is looking for a new contract. Ja'Marr Chase is eligible for an extension after this season and is also eligible for an extension in the years to come.

Brown said it was a puzzle. It doesn't all fit right. Some pluses are on the way. Some guys are critical to the team. Some guys are going to leave.

Brown made it clear that the team's priority will be the person.

The most important issue right now is with our quarterback. It's not ripe yet, but it's on the way.
