The Russian Foreign Minister said on Sunday that Moscow's goal in the war is to oust Zelenskyy.

Russia's top diplomat said at the Arab League summit in Cairo that Moscow wants to help Ukrainians liberate themselves from the oppressive regime.

"Ukrainian people will be helped to get rid of the regime, which is anti-people and anti-historical," said the Russian foreign minister.

The Russian government said in March that it wasn't trying to overthrow the Ukrainian government.

Russia has claimed that it is fighting to de-Nazify the country. Zelenskyy is a lost family member of the Holocaust. According to Kremlinologists, Russian President Vladimir Putin is in a war of conquest and his true goal is to subjugating Ukrainians. The comments offered a glimpse into Putin's designs.

As Russia continues its devastating onslaught in Ukraine, launching strikes in cities across the country, the West is pushing the Ukrainians to stay in the fight, according to the Russian foreign minister.

The West doesn't want to negotiate until Russia is defeated on the battlefield.

There are few reasons to believe that Russia would abide by the peace deal it signed with the Ukrainians. Russia attacked the Ukrainian port of Odesa just one day after the UN supported deal was signed. "That's all you need to know about the deals with Russia," said the Prime Minister of Estonia.

Zelenskyy said in a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal that there was no point in negotiating a truce until Ukraine regained control of its territory.

Zelenskyy said that "freezing the conflict with the Russian Federation means a pause that gives the Russian Federation a break for rest."

Zelenskyy said that Russia would use a ceasefire to regain strength and then try to conquer Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said they would prefer to de-occupy in a way that wasn't military. We are dealing with who we are dealing with They will not understand anything until they are smashed in the face.

Russia invaded Ukraine in late February. The Russian military turned its attention to Luhansk and the rest of the east after failing to take Kyiv.

Russian forces gained control of Luhansk by the beginning of July. The conflict has evolved into a war of attrition and the Russian advance has been very small. According to Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Russia has only gained around six to 10 miles of territory since the focus of the offensive was shifted to the Donbas.

Russia is losing steam in the war, which could give the Ukrainians an opportunity to retaliate.
