This is the first thing the "Star Trek" universe has ever seen.

The news of a new "Star Trek" comic book series is coming hot and heavy this week at San Diego Comic-Con, and IDW Publishing has just announced that they will be releasing a new "Star Trek" comic book series this fall.

"Star Trek #1" will be written by Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing and illustrated byRosa Ramonnas and will be released in October.

"Star Trek: Picard - Stargazer" puts Jean-Luc back in charge.

Benjamin Sisko, the commanding officer of Deep Space 9 in the "Star Trek" television series, will be returning to the series.

IDW representatives wrote that Benjamin Sisko has returned from the Bajoran Wormhole. His godhood is not doing well. The Prophets sent him on a mission to the deepest parts of space. The only way they can stop them is if Sisko and his crew from every era of 'Trek' are involved.

Benjamin Sisko is back. Lanzing was quoted in a press release. We are thrilled to launch a new starship with a crew of new and familiar faces heading on a mission that will truly go where no one has gone before. The book is a place where anyone can show up.

A special "Star Trek #1" prelude story from Kelly, Lanzing, andRosanas will be included in September's anthology issue.

Lanzing and Kelly have been writing together for many years and they are both excited about the "Star Trek" saga.

Dreams of a utopian future of cooperation and equality are more important than ever. The stories that have meant so much to us in the past are what we are excited to continue. The grand adventure weaves together elements from every Star Trek series to tell a new, vital, and forward- thinking sci-fi saga.

"Next Generation," "Voyager," and "Deep Space Nine" were all reruns of the classic "Star Trek" series that RamonRosanas loved to watch as a child.

I didn't miss a single episode of those three shows after that. The legacy of Gene Roddenberry is unstoppable. Being able to bring my passion and creativity to this franchise is very exciting for me.
