Gazprom: Nord Stream 1 supply to Europe to be cut further

There will be a cut in gas supplies to Europe because of maintenance work.

The current level of supply would be halved if another turbine is stopped at theNord Stream 1.

There was no technical reason for limiting gas supply.

The Nord Stream 1 was completely shut down for 10 days for maintenance earlier this month, and has been running well below capacity for weeks.

The EU accused Russia of using energy as a weapon after Russia supplied 40% of its gas to Europe.

The European Commission wants countries to cut gas use by 15% over the next seven months.

The price of gas has gone up since Russia invaded Ukraine.

The latest reduction in supply is due to the "technical condition" of one of the last two operating turbine.
