The Kansas City Star said that Josh Hawley has become a national laughingstock after giving a salute to insurrectionists.
During televised hearings Thursday of the House, a video of the Missouri native running to avoid the mob was shown. According to the Missouri newspaper, the clip exposed Hawley, who has since been ridiculed for his cowardice.
The Star pointed out that humiliation doesn't change anything from the group of GOP politicians to which Hawley is a part.
The Star pointed out that shame is not a motivating factor for any number of Republicans caught up in Trumpworld.
Despite Joe Biden's victory, Hawley never apologized for trying to get another Donald Trump presidency.
The Star said that watching Hawley race away from the Capitol invaders was blackly funny. It was expedient for him to let the Trump posse go before the siege started.
The publication wanted to know where that fist was in the air.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said in its editorial that Hawley understood the physical danger he helped uncork that day.
The senator was criticized by the newspaper last year for pushing the election lies.
