The league has a streaming service.
The National Football League is launching NFL+ for a monthly fee of $4.99 or a yearly fee of $39.99.
The preseason games that were previously only available with a subscription to NFL Game Pass will now be included with a subscription. The Jacksonville Jaguars will play the Las Vegas Raiders in the first preseason game. The game won't be on NFL+ since it will be a nationally televised game.
Previously available for free on the Yahoo Sports app, live mobile device access to local and prime-time regular season and playoffs will be included in the new NFL+.
The first time the NFL has operated its own streaming service, it gives the league a new platform to possibly show exclusive games. Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association have their own streaming services that include out-of- market games.
Hans Schroeder, executive vice president and chief operating officer of NFL Media, said that the league won't initially include exclusive regular-season games but could eventually. For the next seven to 11 years, the league has secured its local broadcast rights.
It is one of the options that we will consider with all of our other options. We're excited about where the league can go. There are a lot of different factors when it comes to media and sports distribution.
The National Football League is in the process of renewing its Sunday Ticket package and will pick a streaming partner by the fall. Access to all out-of-market games on Sundays is included in that package. After this season, the current contract between DirecTV and Sunday Ticket won't be renewed. The length of its new Sunday Ticket deal is still to be determined, but the league wants a new partner to be successful.
In addition to the games, there will be shows on demand and archive programming.
The NFL is selling a premium version of the game for $799.99 per year. Full game replays and access to "All-22" film, a bird's-eye view of the game that coaches use to see how all 22 players move in a given play are included in that subscription.

The league's media rights will be moving to a streaming service.
