It's a word that means "shabby!" The Gods have a fury of the gods.
At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, The Walking Dead announced bigger news than all of the other studios. We knew that there would be more than a dozen movies and shows coming up in Phase 4, 5 and 6 of the MCU, as well as the debut of new blockbuster trailers, and we were prepared.
Do you mean DC? It was quite a bit more sparse.
Black Adam, which will be out in about three months, was one of the main projects that was focused on, but there was nothing wild about it. And then a comic book. There is a new trailer for Black Adam's other side of the coin.
That was more or less what it turned out to be. It was likely due to the controversy surrounding cast members that the upcoming projects were not included. Heard is fresh out of the Johnny Depp lawsuit and Miller is a Batman villain in Hawaii. It's possible DC is still deciding what to do with both Meera and Barry Allen, or they just didn't want to showcase either film, as they knew discussion of the actors themselves would consume everything else
There is a flash.
The projects weren't the only ones. WB was thrown into a weird position when it was rumored that Henry Cavill would show up at the show to announce a return to playing Superman in the DCEU. Even if it wasn't a fair expectation in the first place, they had to suffer because of the rumor. It raises bigger questions about the DCEU and where it goes from here. The "Snyderverse" is never going to be restored, but these are all still from the same time period.
There are more than one parallel movies. Even though we know The Batman 2 is coming outside of the DCEU, neither of these were mentioned at the show.
DC doesn't have a unified strategy on the TV side. The Arrowverse is dying a terrible death right now, with no real finales for Batwoman, The Flash, or Superman, as well as Lois Lane pulling an "I don't" We have projects that don't fit in anywhere but still exist. We know we're getting at least one The Batman spin-off starring Penguin but it's a total piata of content over there.
There are two people, Superman and Lois.
There is a lack of any kind of coherence. DC has a variety of multiverses that mean they are trying to do both concepts, have the DCEU as a main, shared universe, but also have several sub-universes that exist on their own planes. It's a problem that some of those worlds are outshining the main one, and you can imagine a situation where they just scrap everything and start over in a new world. I don't think Black Adam and Shazam will change people's minds at that point.
