A local New York lawmaker publicly accused AOC of ignoring her home district: 'It would be nice if you breathed our air'

Ramos accused Ocasio-Cortez of not calling her even though she was unpopular in the district, as well as rebutting users who came out in support of her.

Ramos stated that she just wants her congressman to be around and do their job in the community.

Ramos responded to a user who posted a picture of the two lawmakers from a March 2022.

A representative for Ocasio-Cortez told Insider that they had asked the original poster, Daniel, for more information about the meeting.

"Based on what they've said so far, we don't know if this meeting happened, but we are looking into it," the representative said.

The representative said that Ocasio-Cortez held an outreach meeting in Jackson Heights where both her and Ramos' offices are located. The congresswoman has a district work period from July 1 to July 8.

The congresswoman secured $2 million in an appropriations bill this spring after meeting with staff and clients of the community group.

Ramos didn't reply to a request from Insider.

Zohran Mamdani, a member of the New York State Assembly, came out in support of Ocasio-Cortez.

She has been a partner at every level of politics, and she was a critical part of the NY TWA victory. Her representation is all the better. The writer referred to the New York Taxi Workers Alliance.
