After acknowledging the power and longevity of "Trumpism," Rep. Adam Kinzinger argued some members of the Republican party were taking advantage of pro- Trump voters.

"Trumpism isn't dying, even though Trump is becoming irrelevant," the Illinois Republican said on ABC News' "This Week."

The January 6 House Select Committee, which he is a member of, investigated and aired details about the attack on the Capitol. The committee has proved that the Department of Justice can incriminate Trump, according to Kinzinger.

In five years, I think it's going to be hard to find someone that will ever admit they were a Trump supporter, and I think this is where this impact comes, in future history.

Kinzinger told those who still hold Trump in high regard that they are being abused.

The two Republicans on the January 6 committee are not the ones lying to you, he said. People are telling you what you want to hear. Kevin McCarthy is one of them.

The leaders of your Republican party have been lying to you. They know things differently than you have been told. They know the election was not stolen, but they're going to use you to stay in power, and they're going to take your money as well.
