Gore was asked if he would consider running on a climate change platform similar to that of Washington Gov. Jay Inslee. Gore, who won an Academy Award in 2006 for his climate change documentary, has been an outspoken climate change activist for decades.

According to the former vice president, elections in countries like Australia and Brazil could change their governments to pro-climate majority and he wants to see that happen in the US as well.
"Public sentiment is changing very dramatically, but we need more grassroots action on the part of Americans, not only in the upcoming congressional races and the presidential race in 2024, but in the local races, and in the state elections, as well."
The people have to find a solution. We have to tell those in positions of leadership that they need to do the right thing.
He said that the survival of a species may depend on it.
